Great wines, Angel is the way to go!
How does the Naked Wines Angel subscription work? Well, it basically means you always get a decent discount, so you don't have to keep hunting for new customer vouchers like you might with Laithwaites or Virgin Wines. I've been really impressed with their South African Chardonnay selections – the Journey's End Haystack is usually around 20% off for Angels and it's a solid bottle for the price. Delivery is always quick too.
Naked Wines - Good for Angels?
Anyone else finding Naked Wines a bit of a mixed bag? I tried them out with one of those new customer vouchers, which are pretty good if you don't mind committing to a 12-bottle case. I picked up a Bordeaux variety pack, and the quality was decent for the price. The Angel membership does offer better ongoing discounts compared to constantly hunting for codes, which is a plus. You can indeed cancel the Angel membership anytime, which is reassuring. However, I sometimes find their individual bottle prices a bit steep compared to places like Majestic or even Waitrose Cellar, even with the Angel discount. Still, a good option for trying some different wines.
Got my first case!
So I finally decided to try Naked Wines, got one of those starter cases, a White wine case. It came pretty quick, like 3 days after I ordered. Everything was packaged really well, no broken bottles or anything. The Pinot Grigio was really nice, super crisp. The whole thing was just easy, you know? Definitely gonna order again when these are gone.
Good deal on a first order
I used a first order discount to get a Mixed wine case. The saving was substantial, making the cost per bottle really attractive. I was looking for good value, and this fit the bill perfectly. The wines were decent for the price I paid after the discount. Worth it for a first-time buyer.
Decent value, delivery meh
I bought a Red wine case after seeing an offer. The wine quality was pretty good for what I paid, definitely better than supermarket stuff at that price. Delivery was okay, took 4 days to get here. The tracking info wasn't super detailed, just basic updates. Overall, I was happy with the wine, but the delivery could be quicker or have better tracking.
Good wine, slow support response
I ordered a Mixed wine case, specifically the 'Discovery Case' as a new Angel. The ordering process online was straightforward enough, and I received an order confirmation almost immediately. Delivery took about 5 days to reach my address in Brighton, which was within their stated timeframe. All bottles arrived intact and well-packaged. The quality of the wines, especially the Malbec and Sauvignon Blanc, exceeded my expectations for the price point. I did have a question about one of the winemakers and sent a message through their portal; it took nearly 48 hours to get a response, which felt a bit slow compared to other online retailers I use. The wine itself is excellent, but they could improve on customer support response times.
